Printago Goes Free Forever + Opens API Access for Developers
We're announcing two major changes that will reshape how print farms operate. First, we're making Printago free forever, regardless of how many printers you connect. Second, we're opening up our API to empower developers and automation enthusiasts. While Printago remains in completely open beta today, we'll be enabling billing features soon as we transition to our commercial release.
Reimagining Print Farm Pricing
The traditional approach to print farm software pricing has always felt wrong to us. Charging per connected printer means your costs increase with every machine you add, whether you're actively using them or not. This model stifles growth and innovation, particularly for those looking to experiment with different printer configurations or scale their operations.
Our new model is revolutionarily simple: you pay only for concurrent jobs. Connect as many printers as you want - 10, 50, or even 200 - and use Printago completely free with one concurrent job. Your print queue will automatically manage all your connected printers, moving from one to the next efficiently. When you need more throughput, simply increase your concurrent job limit.
What makes this even more powerful is that Printago never demands exclusive control of your printers. You can continue to use your connected printers through Bambu Studio, Orca Slicer, or Handy, or any other software you prefer. Printago works alongside your existing workflows, adding value without forcing you to change how you already work. This means you can gradually transition to Printago's automation features at your own pace, while maintaining complete control over your hardware.
The results speak for themselves: Instead of paying thousands per month for a large printer farm, you can now start for free and scale your costs only when your production demands require it. No more paying for idle capacity or being penalized for having specialized or backup printers. When you need more throughput, add concurrent jobs. If demand slows, you can scale back your concurrent jobs. However, we're confident that the time saved through Printago's automation will help you focus on creating and selling new items - making scaling back unlikely!
The actual costs will remain as it was for our per-printer pricing plan - except now you're *only* paying for how many print jobs Printago will process from your print queue at a time, not the ability to connect the printer and use core functionality.
Announcing Public API Access
Today we're also excited to announce that we're opening up our API to the public. This is the same API that powers Printago.io - now available in alpha for developers and automation enthusiasts. If you're generating models programmatically or need to integrate Printago into your existing workflows, reach out to us via email or Discord. We're taking requests for access on a case-by-base basis at this time.
