Plate Merging, Print Telemetry & Orca Slicer Integration

Three-plus years in the making, and we're finally able to build the fun, ambitious features we've always envisioned. Leading the pack is Plate Merging — automatically combining compatible queued jobs onto a single build plate to maximize throughput across your farm.

Alongside it: Print Telemetry, which captures the full story of every print attempt, and the first pieces of our Orca Slicer integration. Rounding out this release: real-time Etsy orders with full support for Etsy's new personalization questions, a Getting Started checklist, a public status page, and a large batch of printer, slicing, UX, and reliability fixes.

Plate Merging

Plate Merging combines compatible pending jobs onto a single build plate, either by hand from the queue or automatically at match time.

• Manual merging from the queue. Click "Merge..." on a job (or a group of identical jobs) and a plate preview panel slides out beside the queue. Jobs that can't join the plate collapse in place, every compatible job gets an Add button right on its row, and you pick a plate size and print them together.
• Automatic merging. Turn on "Automatically merge compatible jobs" (Settings > Account > General > Plate Merging) and Printago fills each matched printer's plate with compatible queued jobs, with a merge scope option to keep each plate within a single order.
• Each part keeps its own print settings. Supports (including painted supports and support enforcers), walls, infill, seam, brim, and layer height carry over per part, so a part that came in with supports enabled still gets them when it shares a plate with others.
• Advanced plate optimization settings control how plate-wide slicer settings combine when jobs with different print profiles merge: block the merge if they differ, take the highest or lowest value, or let the plate's profile decide. Safe defaults are built in.
• Slicer compatibility policy controls which slicers may share a plate: allow slicer upgrades and print on the newest version (the default), use your account default slicer for all jobs, or require the exact same slicer and version.
• Skipped objects stay skipped. If you chose to skip objects on a job, only the objects you kept are placed, sliced, and printed on the merged plate.
• Multi-plate project files can join. Each plate of a multi-plate 3MF queues as its own job, and merging pulls in just that plate's objects.
• A real plate preview. The merge panel renders a slicer-style build plate: dark bed with a 10mm grid, rounded corners, and excluded areas shown as recessed patches, with real object silhouettes for every job on the plate.
• Download the combined file. Grab the merged 3MF from the job details page to open the full plate in your slicer.

Print Telemetry

We can now print telemetry for every print attempt: temperatures, progress, errors, and per-layer timing from the printer, plus a detailed flight recording from Fuse-connected printers. It's on by default, with an opt-out under Settings > Account > General.

• A telemetry panel on the job details page shows a temperature graph (nozzle, bed, chamber, actual vs target) with layer changes and errors flagged on the timeline, an event log of pauses, filament changes, skips, and printer errors, filament actually used per color, the objects skipped during the print and the layer they were skipped at, and per-attempt downloads for the timelapse, completion photo, and raw telemetry.
• Scrub the timelapse against the graph. Where a timelapse was recorded, switching on Timelapse above the graph adds the frame from that moment to the hover readout, so you can scrub the print and watch it build alongside its temperatures.
• Every attempt keeps its own footage. Retrying a print no longer overwrites the previous attempt's timelapse or completion photo, so a failed attempt's evidence stays available alongside the successful one.
• Better completion photos. A momentary camera or network blip no longer silently skips the end-of-print photo (Printago retries first), and Bambu printers now capture the finished print instead of an empty plate.
• Richer print history. Print history now records pauses and resumes, printer errors and warnings during a job, and what each attempt skipped.

Accurate material usage

• Material usage now accounts for objects skipped on the printer: a skipped object's filament is counted only up to the layer where it was skipped, whether it was skipped at print start or mid-print (including from the printer's own screen or the Bambu app).
• Print history records how much filament the skipped objects would have used, so a total that comes in under the slicer's estimate explains itself.
• Cancelling a print from Printago now records the filament used up to the layer it reached, matching what was already recorded for prints stopped at the printer.

Orca Slicer Integration

The groundwork for Printago inside Orca Slicer is here, with our currently custom Orca Slicer build that includes the Printago integration:

• Save & Queue from the slicer. New "Save to Printago" and "Save & Queue to Printago" pages let you save the project you just sliced to your library, map its materials (matched automatically to materials you own), pick a folder and printer, and queue plates without leaving the slicer.
• Edit in Orca Slicer. Open a part's file (3MF, STL, or STEP) straight into Orca Slicer and save your edits back to Printago, with a clear confirmation before the file is replaced. In a normal browser the button hands off to Orca via a deep link.
• Preview sliced G-code in Orca. Open a job's sliced G-code directly in Orca Slicer to inspect exactly what will print.

Etsy: Real-Time Orders & New Personalization

• Orders arrive in real time. The moment a customer pays, the order appears in Printago (previously orders synced every 5 minutes). Shipped, delivered, and canceled statuses update in real time too, and orders now show a Shipped pill the moment Etsy reports the shipment.
• Full support for Etsy's new personalization questions. Every question (up to 5 per listing) is captured on the order, importing SKUs creates a variant option per question, and buyer file uploads are downloaded and attached to the order automatically.
• Dropdown questions import as variants. Map each choice to a part parameter value or a filament and the buyer's selection applies automatically when the order builds; unmapped choices pass their text through unchanged. Text questions import as personalization fields named after the question.
• Import previews. Importing SKUs shows exactly what it will create before you commit: the variations from your listing options, a personalization variant per question, and the file slot names that upload questions need on your parts.
• Whole-shop search. Searching and filtering listings on the Etsy to Printago tab now works across your entire shop instead of only the current page, and "Select all" picks every matching listing.
• Smoother syncing. Fetching listings no longer fails with rate limit errors on large shops (Printago paces its requests and retries), the listings list flags which listings ask personalization questions, creating draft listings from a template copies the template's questions, and connection changes update the page immediately.

Getting Started Checklist

A new checklist guides new accounts from signup to first print: connect printers, configure them for automated slicing, set up materials, upload a part, and start printing, with each step checking itself off as you get there. Existing accounts can turn it on under Settings > Account > General.

Add-Ons Marketplace

The add-ons page is now the Marketplace, reachable from Add-Ons > Marketplace in the sidebar, with a search box to quickly find add-ons as the catalog grows. Pin your favorite retail add-ons for one-click access: pinned add-ons appear as shortcuts under the new Add-Ons menu in the sidebar.

Printers & Materials

• Anycubic Kobra: queued jobs no longer bounce in an endless assign/unassign loop that kept prints from ever starting.
• OctoPrint: hosts with a disconnected or unplugged printer now show as offline instead of rapidly flapping between online and offline.
• Bambu H2S: the chamber temperature now reads correctly.
• Dashboard Full view lays printer cards out in a uniform grid: every card keeps its size and place, so cards no longer resize or shuffle when a job starts or a printer errors, and wider screens fit more printers per row. Long printer names truncate instead of pushing the card icons out of view, and the printer actions menu no longer opens empty.

Reliability & Fixes

• Printers that drift into a stuck "unavailable" or "offline" state now repair themselves: a background check compares stored status against live status and restores the flags when they disagree, only ever toward available, and never while a job is assigned.
• Printers should no longer get stuck showing "Busy" after a print fails to start, holding a concurrent print slot until someone cancelled the job by hand.
• Fuse recovers camera streams automatically after go2rtc stops, and printers no longer get stuck or flicker on "SYNC NEEDED" during token refreshes.
• Print job tracking on Fuse-connected printers is more reliable: printers report exactly which Printago job they are running, so prints match the right job even when the printer garbles its own job identifiers. Fuse also shows a clear on-screen error when a printer rejects a print file because its USB drive or microSD card is missing or full.
• Fixed a Fuse activation issue where trying the Test environment could leave the client stuck on the activation screen; affected installs fix themselves on update.
• Much faster print-job matching and general responsiveness for stores with large queues, plus dozens of new database indexes that speed up order syncing, folder views, and printer and job history.
• Fixed the Orders page crashing to a white screen in Safari and embedded webviews.
• Parts can no longer be queued while an uploaded file's materials are still processing, which previously could send a job to any printer with any filament. The print dialog shows a "Processing Part Metadata" notice and unblocks the moment processing finishes.
• Storefront webhook redeliveries are collapsed into a single job, and order reconciliation no longer stalls on an item whose print job was merged onto a shared plate.

API

• New /v2/print-history endpoints for scripting against print history. They always return the paginated envelope (total, count, hasMore), default to the 100 most recent attempts, and add /v2/print-history/{printerId} for pulling one printer's history.
• Requests with a malformed API key header now return a proper 401 instead of a server error.
