Compatibility Virtual printer

Printago can't control this printer directly. Add it in Fuse as a virtual printer to queue jobs, track material, and keep its job history in Printago while you start each print on the machine.

How to add the Weber Additive DXR as a virtual printer

  1. 1
Install the Fuse bridge on Windows, macOS, or Docker.
  2. 2
In Fuse, click Add Printer and search for the DXR. Virtual-only models are listed while Show virtual-only printers is checked, which it is by default.
  3. 3
Sync the new printer to your Printago account. It shows up on the Printers page with a Virtual badge.
  4. 4
When Printago assigns it a job, start that print on the DXR yourself. The virtual printer runs for the estimated print time, or click Finish now when the real print comes off the bed.

Need the bridge? Download Fuse for Windows, macOS, or Docker.

The Weber Additive DXR is a pellet-fed 3D printer with a 1000 × 1000 × 1000 mm build volume. Printago can't control the DXR directly. Add it in Fuse as a virtual printer and it runs through Printago like the rest of your farm: jobs queue and route to it, material use is tracked, and every print lands in the job history. You start each print on the machine yourself.

Virtual

Keep the Weber Additive DXR in your queue and your records

A machine Printago can't control usually ends up on a spreadsheet, outside the queue and the material counts. Add the DXR in Fuse as a virtual printer instead. Printago routes jobs to it, tracks the material each one uses, and keeps its job history next to the rest of your farm. You start each print on the machine; the virtual printer runs for the estimated print time, or you click Finish now when the part comes off the bed.

Frequently asked questions

Does Printago work with the Weber Additive DXR?

Yes, as a virtual printer. Printago can't send prints to the Weber Additive DXR directly, but you can add it in Fuse as a virtual printer. It then takes jobs from your queue, tracks material, and keeps a job history alongside the rest of your farm. You start each print on the machine yourself.

Why can't Printago control the Weber Additive DXR directly?

Printago doesn't have an integration for the Weber Additive DXR's control protocol, so it can't start, pause, or watch its prints. A virtual printer keeps the DXR in your queue and your records anyway.

What does a virtual printer do in Printago?

It stands in for the DXR. Jobs queue and route to it like any other printer, it runs each job for the estimated print time (or until you click Finish now), and the job's material use and history are recorded. You can set it to run in real time, 2×, 5×, or 10×, or to fast-forward, from the printer's Settings tab.

Can I download the G-code Printago slices for the DXR?

No. Printago slices virtual-printer jobs with a generic profile only to estimate print time and material use. That file isn't made for the DXR, so it can't be downloaded. Prepare and start the real print in the printer's own software.
