--allow-mix-temp

Slicing Actions Orca Slicer 2.3.2+Bambu Studio 2.0.0+

Bypass the filament temperature-compatibility gate so plates mixing incompatible temperature tiers -- such as high-temp ABS or ASA alongside low-temp PLA or TPU on a single nozzle -- slice through to G-code, at the operator's own risk, while leaving AMS slot assignment, color mapping, and flush sequencing untouched.

Details

Bypasses the slicer's filament temperature-compatibility check. Before slicing, the slicer sorts the filaments assigned to a plate into temperature tiers (roughly high-temp like ABS, ASA, or PC; low-temp like PLA or TPU; and a flexible middle) and rejects a plate that mixes incompatible tiers, since on a single nozzle those materials share one hot end and one compromise temperature. --allow-mix-temp turns that gate off and slices through regardless. It only affects this check; AMS slot assignment, color mapping, and flush sequencing are untouched.

Watch out for

  • The risk is physical: a temperature that suits a high-temp material will char or under-feed a low-temp one sharing the nozzle, and vice versa. Use it only when you know the specific pairing prints together reliably.
  • It is not a color or AMS fix. If your problem is slot assignment, this flag does nothing for you.
