How to Update Firmware on the Elegoo Centauri Carbon

July 8, 2026

Update Elegoo Centauri Carbon firmware over the air from the touchscreen or by USB. How to check your version, what updates fix, and what to do if an update fails.

Update the Elegoo Centauri Carbon firmware over the air from the printer's touchscreen: open Settings, find the firmware or system update section, and let it download and install the latest version over Wi-Fi. Keep the printer powered and idle while it works. A USB update is available as a fallback for machines that are not on the network.

Check your version first

Before updating, note what you are on. In the touchscreen Settings, under About, System, or Firmware, the installed version is listed. Compare it against the latest release so you know whether an update is even needed and what it changes.

Over-the-air update

  1. Connect the printer to Wi-Fi.
  2. Open Settings on the touchscreen.
  3. Open the firmware or system update section.
  4. Let it check for updates and install.
  5. Leave the printer powered and idle until it finishes and reboots.

Do not power-cycle the machine during a flash.

USB fallback

If the printer is not networked, download the current firmware file from Elegoo for your exact model (Centauri Carbon CC1 and Centauri Carbon 2 are different machines, so match it), place it on a USB drive as instructed, and update from the touchscreen. Use only firmware for your specific model.

When an update matters

Firmware fixes motion, thermal, and connectivity bugs and can improve calibration. If you hit a reproducible hardware-side problem, check the release notes for a newer firmware that addresses it before digging into slicer settings. Updating is also worth doing before troubleshooting anything that behaves oddly on the printer itself.

Why this matters for a print farm

Across several Centauri Carbons, mismatched firmware means machines that behave differently on the same job. Keeping the fleet on a known, consistent firmware version removes a whole class of "works on one printer, not another" problems.

Printago gives you one place to monitor and manage a fleet of Centauri Carbons and mixed-brand machines, with live status on every printer, so you can see which machines are current and route jobs with confidence. See what slicer to use for the Centauri Carbon and the printer compatibility page.
