Bambu Studio Download Guide (Windows, Mac, Linux)
June 23, 2026
Download Bambu Studio free from Bambu Lab's official site for Windows, macOS, or Linux. Install steps, system requirements, and how to slice with Bambu Studio online without installing anything.
Download Bambu Studio free from Bambu Lab's official download page or the official GitHub releases. It is open source, runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, and needs no account to slice locally. If you would rather skip the install entirely, you can run Bambu Studio in the cloud and slice from any browser.
Download Bambu Studio
Get the installer for your operating system from one of the two official sources:
- Windows: the
.exeinstaller for Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) - macOS: the
.dmgfor Apple Silicon or Intel Macs - Linux: the
AppImagebuild
Stick to Bambu Lab's site or the GitHub releases page. Third-party "download Bambu Studio" mirrors often wrap the installer in adware, and you lose the signed, verifiable build.
System requirements
Bambu Studio is a desktop slicer, so it needs a real GPU and a reasonably current OS:
- Windows 10 or later, 64-bit
- macOS 11 or later (Apple Silicon and Intel)
- Linux with a recent glibc, run as an AppImage
- A GPU with working OpenGL for the 3D preview
How to install
- Download the build for your OS from an official source above.
- Run the installer (Windows), drag the app to Applications (macOS), or mark the AppImage executable and launch it (Linux).
- On first launch, pick your printer model and import or sync your filament and process profiles.
- Sign in with a Bambu Lab account if you want cloud profile sync, or skip it to work fully offline.
Skip the install: slice with Bambu Studio online
You do not have to install Bambu Studio on every machine that needs to slice. Printago runs the official Bambu Studio binary as a headless cloud engine, so the same slicer is available online in the browser on any device. This matters once you are past a single desktop:
- No per-seat installs. Anyone on your team slices from the browser, no local setup.
- One project, every printer. Upload a 3MF saved in Bambu Studio and Printago retargets it across your X1, P1, and A1 machines, swapping the machine profile at slice time.
- AMS-aware and color-aware. Printago re-slices with the right purge volumes when the assigned filament color changes, so you are not dialing purges by hand.
- Your profiles come with you. Sync from your Bambu Lab cloud account in one click, or import your
.bbscfgbundles directly.
See Bambu Studio in the cloud for how the engine plugs into the print queue.
Common download and install issues
- "Windows protected your PC" SmartScreen warning: expected on a fresh release. Confirm you downloaded from the official source, then choose More info and Run anyway.
- macOS "damaged and cannot be opened": this is Gatekeeper on an unsigned build. Right-click the app and choose Open, or clear the quarantine attribute.
- Black or blank 3D view: an OpenGL or GPU driver problem. Update your graphics driver, or use the cloud slicer where rendering happens server-side.
- Profiles missing after update: Bambu Studio default values can shift between releases. Printago lets you pin the slicer version your profiles inherit from so output stays consistent.
